Speed Reading

Has anyone tried taking a speed reading course // program? And if so, was it any good?

I've heard of one, eyeQ. I'm a little hesitant to try it though.

The best tool I have found is to simply read as much as you can, and read 'hard' books like certain classics that have a lot of philosophy interwined with the plot.

That makes reading simpler stuff that muc heasier.

i took one. basically all they do is encourage you to move your eyes faster than you are used to. your reading comprehension suffers accordingly. if you're reading anything important, it flat-out doesn't work. if all you need is the gist of something, then it will work ok.

Yes, the EyeQ program trains your eyes to move faster. But it's technique is to make you skim faster so you can read it a few times to greatly improve comprehension.

Go with EyeQ, it's a great program. I had never had a legal copy myself, so I don't use it anymore, but when I had been using it, it was wonderful. It's expensive, but well worth it.
