Got an email today saying that they were bumping us up another tier for no added cost (like they don't charge enough already). Came home, rebooted and say 122 Mb/s down and 12Mb/s upload.
I've been waiting for the local cable co to run cable here and when I do it's a big 10mb download speeds. It's been on the way for about a year last I talked to them.
Damn, and people in the US complain they have crappy internet speeds?
I can't complain though since we got FTTH here now. 😀
I'm on 50/30, their top package is 250/30. I also just found out they got rid of all caps! Before only the 50/30 was unlimited. Going to stick with that though, I don't really need any more speed. The upload is nice too, US ISPs may offer crazy fast speeds but they seem to always skimp on the upload.
I don't know about you people, but i stream damn near everything and have many things running off the internet and 8Mb works pretty well. While I know it's on the bottom end of capabilities, those of you with 100+ are just wasting your money 99% of the time unless you are provisioning out your bandwidth to other people ;p UNLESS ALL OF YOU ARE PIRATES...I mean...sharing out linux distros 24/7.
The disparity of speeds is mind boggling. Some places get more than 20 times the speed of other places despite being nearly the same population densities, etc.

If you received a note from Comcast that you're DL/UL was increased, you must have a docsis 3 modem, and hard-reset your modem. Then perform a speedtest. That should do it. I know the "Blast" internet went from 50/10 to 105/20 at no additional cost in many areas.
