His name is Vick. He is a second generation US-born Indian-American. He has a loving family, graduated college, works in IT, and likes snowboarding. He's a regular guy.

Three years ago while visiting India and his family, he met a nice girl via her uncle. She also went to college & her family was nice. They hit it off quite well. A year goes by, they get serious and both families meet. GF and I also went on a double date with them and we all had a blast.

They finally get married. Both are SUPER happy. Vick's wife puts up all her wedding pictures on FB and everyone congratulate her including her FB friends. Vick's been dying to get out of east coast so they move to Cali and have a nice honeymoon life together. They have so much fun together visiting LA, San Fran, San Diego, and all the locations.

Forward it to present time. Yesterday I got a call from Vick. I was happy to hear from him, and the first thing he says is, "Not good man, not good." There was a grave concern in his voice. "Dude, I've been scammed!". Scammed?

They were happy newly weds. No fights whatsoever. They both wished they had more friends in West Coast, but everything else was going great. About three months ago, on a plain weekday night. she says she wants to get a separate bank account apart from the joint one. Vick says sure. But then she wanted half of the joint account transferred to her personal. He was like wtf and said no. AND GUESS WHAT? THE FLOODGATES OPENED.

She uncharacteristically gets beet red, and storms out. About thirty minutes later, she shows up with two police officers. She told them they've been having an argument and she wants to move out in peace. Vick is just stunned while his wife rummaged up three full suit cases of stuff and got out.

Remember they were new to west coast with minimal friends? A white BMW shows up out of nowhere. And she gets inside the car with two Indian guys in it. Vick has NEVER met them before. His jaw is on the floor trying to grasp just WTF is going on.

That was the last time Vick saw her. Vick's family was informed of this and they get in contact with wife's family in India. They are worried and said they'll fly to US asap to address just what's going on. A month after that, Vick gets a divorce paper in the mail along with being sued for alimony.

Welcome to the real-life movie story of marriage fraud. His wife bounced as soon as she got her green card. She has been living a lie for past four years straight. Yup, her family never showed up. The line got disconnected and well, they completely fucking disappeared.

Hook, line, and sinker. All the way. Man, she did not seem least bit suspicious to me. There are always frauds for green card. But you know what's SICKENING beyond belief? Vick's family really took her in as their own daughter. Just a month prior of all this, Vick's mom took her to the bank and gave her a treasured family jewelry.

God fucking damn bitch. Man, how can you live with yourself like that? I COULD understand if you're fucked up enough to manipulate the marriage and family just to obtain a green card. But she was TRULY rotten to the core, scamming every penny out of the family.

I am beyond words. His mom is visiting him in Cali now to comfort him. He's been feeling bit better. She didn't just fuck him over. She fucked the whole family over. I know Vick's mom who's very kind and loving. I cannot believe she spit all over their faces.

Cliffs:
-My friend is a regular nice guy like the ones you have
-He marries a girl during his visit in India
-They date and get married after both families meet
-Things go well, lots of couple trips, pictures, memories, etc.
-She bails and vanishes completely once she obtained her green card
-My friend is fucked up the ass, so is his poor family

That's so fucked. How could she live with your friend in marriage for 4 years and have it in her to do that? Even if she had that plan from the beginning, things change with time. You are right, rotten to the core.

Reason #89283412 not to get married.

Right. Because women are all over you, that's one of the reason why you simply won't fall in love with one and get married right?

This is totally off-topic, but this common internet antisocial mindset annoy the hell out of me.

Not to sound racist, but this definitely goes on a lot with Indians. There was a girl I went to college with that I suspected was doing something similar.

Lesson learned is tomprotect yourself. Don't marry a foreigner unless they get their green card/landed immigrant status FIRST.

I'm a pretty cynical/realist and I could picture myself doing some bad things. But THIS? It's just SICK and ROTTEN. I mean, how do you live with yourself like that????

The marriage fraud lawyer told him that he's LUCKY, because this is RAMPANT and most women inflict wounds to themselves fake a domestic to solidify their fraud.

Does not compute. Also, I don't have nice friends, how dare you make that assumption!

Just goes to show though, you can never truly know somebody.

Damn...

Make sure your friend is getting out there again, soon. Experience probably shattered his confidence for the moment.

Marriage is so dangerous for guys these days. It's really truly not worth it.

It's literally signing the worst contract you will ever sign.

Wow that's nuts. Is there anything he can do about it? Can he get her green card revoked?

Maybe he can patriot act her ass back to India. Say he found some emails, she had expressed some odd political views and sympathy for certain groups, but didn't know what to do because they were married. Now that she divorced him the second her green card came through, he thinks she may be here as part of a sleeper cell...

You would think that after 4 years, you would know the other person well enough to be able to tell.

There's so much I can write. I was on the phone for two hours.

If he wins, her dipshit ass is deported. I guess greencard-through-marriage is conditional for two years unless she says she's been abused. But he also has all these emails indicating otherwise.

That doesn't change this shit-ride she's been taking him and the family for. He already spent $8K juggling two lawyers.

Best solution ever. Get her ass thrown in Gitmo.

Something similar happened to a person I know. Got into an arranged marriage with this girl from India. Few years on she requests that she they a separate bank acct. then she leaves him. All this time she was seeing her ex from high school or college. The guy her parents did not want her to marry. Divorced. She moved in with the other guy.

My friends sister in law tried similar BS. Friend was clued in. Girl tried to even call the cops to say she was abused. That didn't stand. My friend, her brother, her parents bought the sister in law a one way ticket to India and made sure she was on the flight out. Oh that was Hella drama at lax. They kicked her out. Informed the ins she was trying to commit marriage fraud and green card fraud.

This shit happens..... I'm staying single
