Where does everyone think the 6700XT will land?

10% above RTX 2080 Super, 3-5% above RTX 3060 Ti.

Considering that the 5700XT is pretty close to the 3060, the 6700XT obviously needs to come in a little bit above the 3060 Ti or it's going to be a bit of a disappointment. Then again, even if it does exceed expectations it's still going to lead to disappointment because everyone will want it even more which just ensures whatever limited supply AMD has will vanish that much more quickly.

The 6700 and 6600 would be more interesting to watch in a normal year, but MSRP is basically meaningless right now so comparing cards on anything but raw performance is kind of meaningless since prices are so variable.

So seeing as 3060 reviews are out and the card is mediocre at best, it'll be fun to hear what people's expectations are for Navi22 and Navi23 now.

Where does everyone think the 6700XT will land?

N22 - Stock I think could be between the 3060Ti and 3070 with it being closer to the 3060Ti. OC models could push that towards the 3070. The cut version I expect to land in the performance window between the 3060 and the 3060Ti so something like the 2080 performance.

N23 - This should match the 5700XT and the 3060. Anything less is pointless because if it is 236mm^2 it is barely smaller than N10 and I would expect some perf/mm gains. @2.4Ghz it should be in the same ballpark although if it dropped back from the 5700XT at 4k that would not be a surprise at all.

What cache levels are we thinking? If 236mm is correct for N23 and it has fewer than half the shaders and a 128 bit bus it really suggests 64MB of cache which would imply that N22 has 96MB.

That's generally been what everyone expects.

The 2070S is only about 4/5% faster than the 5700XT on average so it would only be marginally faster than I expected if it fit in that gap.

If N23 has 5700 XT level of performance with much lower TBP(135W), 8GB Vram and RT support I think It would be pretty good, but It will depend on prices.

The problem is that it doesn't matter what they set the price at since there's no way they have sufficient volume to keep it anywhere near MSRP and that's even if pulled a similar trick as Nvidia did and crippled mining. On newegg, I can't find a 5500 XT in that's in stock and being listed at less than $500. AMD could set MSRP at $250, but you'd never see it at that price. None of the stores would even dare to sell it fort that price because they could easily charge $500. With costs for the AIBs going up due to other shortages in the supply chain, they probably wouldn't even sell one for less than $400 just because they'll still have loads of people more than willing to buy at that price.

But now, I am super happy I bought this card when I did, because its impossible to find them, or anything else now.

It's always been a fairly solid card, but it's definitely gotten better with the various driver updates since it launched. Might end up being a bit like Tahiti which had some fairly long legs.

Funny how we're a couple days away from a launch and not much by the way of leaks or performance figures or anything else regarding the 6700xt.

Would have figured more would have bubbled up by now...

It's always been a fairly solid card, but it's definitely gotten better with the various driver updates since it launched. Might end up being a bit like Tahiti which had some fairly long legs.

I got a Sapphire HD7950 OC on day one, and I used that card for years. And up until earlier this year, a friend of mine was still using it daily. Tahiti was one of the best GPU "investments" ever.

Oh yeah, I had two 7950s in crossfire and they rocked for their time. GCN1.0 was pretty epic, and funny thing is im still at a similar performance level with the 580 I have now. Makes me real glad AMD and nvidia are competitive again.

It's just an announcement on the 3rd, 18th is rumoured release day for 1 (just 6700XT of the 3 SKU's).

Maybe it's just harder to find this stuff for a mid-tier card that sort of disappears in the noise on those sites since the performance is nothing new, unlike an AMD card that's suddenly out performing a 2080Ti or something.

It has already shown up on AoTS under a different name, and that name was reported on a while back. Although the articles on it had no clue it was Navi22

Maybe the supply is so tight that not even the usual leakers can get their hands on a card.

I think AMD has been trying to keep more of a lid on their cards, so perhaps they're getting better at that or were able to figure out where the Navi 21 leaks were coming from and put a stop to it for a while.

Or everyone is too depressed by the fact that no one can get any cards so they aren't even excited about leaking performance data.

Yeah on 3060 Ti launch there was a couple of days they were actually available at what now were very good prices (less than all the 3060s currently). I decided to not pull the trigger as "too expensive". (it's not that bad as I don't absolutely need a new one)

Yeah, with the 6700XT I'm thinking about putting in a pre-order if I can. I wanted either a RTX 3600 Ti or a 6700XT this year - but the Ti's, if they can be found, go for the price of a 3080 now-a-days. That leaves the 6700XT, if I can grab it fast.

Honestly if AMD had pre-orders through their website that would at least try to get as many cards out to customers as possible, it would be a bigger deal than having a better card than Nvidia or even a lower price. Obviously there's no way to ensure that only people who will use the cards themselves will be able to get one as people who anticipate the ability to flip the cards would buy one as well, but frankly it's better than going through retailers that don't care one way or another about who buys the cards they sell.

Otherwise it doesn't really matter what AMD unveils at their event. Suppose they've got a $400 6700 XT that's 10% better than a 3060 Ti. Does it matter at all if practically no one can manage to buy one at MSRP? The real price is already going to be several hundred dollars above whatever AMD sets as the MSRP, so if they want to show a commitment to delivering on that they need some kind of system in place to try to deliver.

France is getting about 200 6700XT's, the UK generally gets a little morte stock than France so I wouldn't bet on more than 300. That is AMD + AIB btw...

So 500 or so in a combined population of 130 million? Sounds amazing. Can't wait for my 2024 delivery window. Better not miss it by blinking otherwise it's 2026.

I think the idea of anything tech related getting cheaper soon time is unlikely. Cheaper than the inflated prices we have now, I can see that. hellodear

Looks like AMD is outright claiming this will beat the 3070... so it looks like the 6800's days are numbered.

Hopefully this somehow translates into more 6900XTs and 6800XTs if the 6800 was being deliberately harvested and cut from full parts to fill a price gap.
