Speculating on my system

Talking about Rig3

The only game I play on it is UT3

For the longest time I used a 20 and 21 (turbo) multi on the system. I also used my RAM between 1.6-1.65v and between 500Mhz to ~800Mhz

I never went above 3.3Ghz on the machine. UT3 always would randomly crash.

I recently lowered the multi to 19, ramped up the bus to 180. I noticed the CPU wattage usage went from 150w to 112w - 1st cue. When I lowered the multi, I decided to keep the RAM speed @ 2:6 to ease up on the system. I also lowered the RAM to 1.54v - I am running at 3.4Ghz and UT3 hasn't crashed since changing to these settings... So I am thinking the lower multi, RAM voltage has overall helped with the systems stability.

A counter argument against using LinX and other testers is that even with my old 775 rig and this game, passing stability testers would still not keep the game from crashing. One possibility is that the game is still screwed up but, the frequency of the game crashing with the old settings on this new system compared to now, is enough to take note of these things and share them with the rest of us overclocking our 920's
