I suspect it will be awhile before we see a replacement for the 2405FPW since, well, no other product really comes close to this in terms of price, performance and build.

As good as this thing is, I still have a big problem with ghosting while gaming on this and ALL LCD's. I know I'm in the minority here, but my eyes are very sensitive to the screen update speeds between LCD's and CRT's. I just can't get used to it. :(

Anyway I digress. Here is what I'd like to see updated/improved in the successor to the 2405FPW.

1) Improved viewing angles.
2) High-pitched whining power supply issue
3) "Bleeding" at the edges issue
4) Better response times!!!
5) Fewer dead pixels (although this isn't a huge problem now)
6) OLCD? (Yea right!)

I'm thinking the 1920x1200 WUXGA resolution will not change. Increasing the resolution would most likely cause the hardcore gamers among us to pass on it. It's tough enough already playing a modern game at 1920x1200.

I'm interested on what you guys would like to see changed/improved for the next 24" Dell LCD, and when you think it will be available.

Thanks.

Why change something that has no direct competition at that price point?

Things will only get better as they work out the bugs. ;)

I doubt Dell will replace the 2405FPW any time soon. They will probably add a larger screen size to their lineup and/or improve the internals in future 24" LCDs.

Since Windows Vista will require DRM monitors for certain applications, I would guess HDMI/HDCP would be high/highest on the list

As to when. Before 2007....
