Ugh I hate Spectrum and I hate Bluetooth. Why is Bluetooth on the freaking 2.4 GHz band? Yeah let's just put everything on the same frequency. And Spectrum's router doesn't allow me to change the channel my 2.4 GHz Wifi broadcasts on, so whenever the TV in the other room is streaming say Prime or Netflix I get audio stutter using my Bluetooth headphones in the same room as the wireless router. Spectrum in their infinite wisdom also puts the 2.4GHz and 5GHz on the same SSID in the router they supplied and won't let me change them so of course the TV just connects to the 2.4G band when I connect to the SSID for my router. Not really looking for solutions, I know I have to buy a real router and send this Spectrum piece of crap router back to them, just wanted to rant about how stupid Bluetooth and Spectrum are. You'd think they'd have the decency to not use the same channel Bluetooth uses on the 2.4 GHz band but nope. let's just flood everything onto the same frequency.

Another option is to do like we did for 70-80 years and use wired headphones, cutting out bluetooth entirely and giving you better audio signal at the same time....

I have Spectrum, but I have my own router. I only have a modem from Spectrum, and I only have that because they do not charge modem rental, unlike many other cable companies. Charter used to charge for modems, thus I owned my own. When it got zapped by lightening, I had Spectrum send me one, vs. purchasing one.

I will control the router my devices are connected to <full stop>.

Oh, by the way, there is no problem with having the same SSID on the 2.4 and 5 gigabit Wi-Fi. It makes it simple for those devices that may not support 5GHz Wi-Fi, such as a printer, or an old iPod that still works great. I also have a mesh network setup. Wife streaming on the TV, I'm streaming on my laptop, listening with my blue tooth headset, and the wife may also be using blue tooth from her phone to her hearing aids. No issues at all.
