Sales price $40 - $20 rebate

Anyone has experience, good or bad, with Spectek memory? Seems to be a Micron subsidiary or some related entity.

Spectek should be ok at 166MHz, but my two top out around 193 MHz (2.5/7/3/3 timings). Most of my PC2100 sticks reach higher speeds (Kingston, KByte-Me, PNY, 200Mhz +). The PNY PC2700 from Staples last month ($10 AR/AC) turned out to be Samsung sticks, and can hit 218 MHz.

Spectek is their low-end ram. Supposed to be good chips pulled from bad dimms, or marginal chips that don't get the Micron brand. Mine are 8 months old, so maybe current stuff is better.

it's true Micron owns them, but rumor is that if ram sticks dont pass QC as micron chips, they get sold as spectek chips. i wouldn't suggest overclocking.

I got 2 of these a few months ago but was PC2100. They would only overclock to 142 FSB even with a
voltage increase. They are ok for moms PC though. (thats the spectek PC2100) not these PC2700 sticks but
they are probably simular.

It seems the general concesus is not favorable. So it is not a really 'Hot Deal' then. I think I'll get the mobile XP2400+ and see what my existing pair of Kingston PC2100 can do first.
