I am going to be purchasing a new AMD 64. I'm looking to find somewhere I can get information regard the difference between core names and the different model numbers. More specific the core names ie.. Venice, San Diego ect and the model numbers ADAxxxxBPBOX not the xxxx+. Does anybody have any links? I am currently trying to decide between a 3200+ Venice core or a 3700+ San Diego core. I see the big difference is clock speed and L2 cache, but wanted to get more information regarding the actual core names. I don't plan on overclocking. I just need to know if I should spend the extra money or not. Also when looking at Newegg's web site, I see two different 3200+ Venice cores and want to know what the difference is. Thanks

One thing you should also look for is benchmarks on certain processors. This will give you a better indication on how they perform. You can find this easy with google. Also there are many members here that can comment from experience on how one processor performs compared to another.

If youre not overclocking. Just get any 3200 venice. Forget the extra cache. It wont make any noticeable difference.

Any E3 or E6 venice should suffice. :p
