Damn so much for anonymous . . . especially with all the dumb arses that think this guy did something wrong by being a decent human being.

I think he is definitly a hero.

Whichever cowardly self-righteous son of a bitch decided to air these pictures and create a show around them, however, should be sent on patrol in Fallujah.

It's especially sad that simply being a decent human being and doing the right thing qualifies one as a hero. All about context, I guess.

It is kind of hard to say without a reasonable doubt that airing the photos was all bad though.(I'm not referring to Mr. Darby)

Yes, it does and probably will hurt us with some Arabs, however, without all the public attention I'm not sure the response would be enough to stop it from reoccurring.

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!

Did you miss the simile in the first line of that song? Do you know what a simile is? You feel no shame in trying to improperly and inaccurately portray that song? Which year did you drop out of high school and become a political correspondent?

You'd rather we never knew about this? So that there would be no pressure on politicians and top brass to crack down on these kind of abuses, is that it? Maybe you prefer we have secret wars too, perhaps there should have been no coverage on the war on Iraq and no public statements so most people don't even know we're there.

Isn't that obvious?

Is that the only reason somebody could have for not wanting these aired?

No. But I think unnecessarily enflaming a single-minded culture to serve your anti-Bush agenda is irresponsible and cowardly and self-righteous and the actions of a real son of a bitch.

I applaud whoever revealed the pictures. This led to the revelation of the true heroes.

Why are you so un-American that you do not want the public to know about its own heroes?!

Look I pity you that you see everything in black & white- it's always either something for or against Bush. This has nothing to do with Bush. Do you see anyone here blaming it on Bush? Is Bush in charge of that prison? You're going off on a tangent, my friend.

This is serious problem and it must be erradicated. Allowing the public to see what happened is a good thing, as they then put pressure to make sure things are straightened out so it's harder for some other whack-job sildiers to do this in another prison. I thought that should make perfect sense to anyone.

Since Bush's reelection will be affected in some part by our success in Iraq, more anti-US sentiment creating less stability is bad for Bush. I thought that should make perfect sense to anyone.

100% agree.

100% agree. 100% disagree on the timing and manner.

How nice to see that ALL you care about is Bush's reelection, and you don't give a sh1t about what happens to those prisoners, as long as it doesn't affect your beloved scum currently in office.

Thanks for stating it so clearly for all to see.

But seriously, you said "This has nothing to do with Bush" and I explained how it does and you attacked me for it. WTF is up with that? I thought you'd have been greatful for me teaching you something. :shrug;

nice spin. good to see you thinking a little for once.

now, i do care about the US soldiers. care so much in fact, that I questioned the motives to the war, and the validity of it before they were sent there to die.
i didn't say this has nothing to do with bush. it's just that none of us who dissaprove of him, even brought him up in this thread. looks like you chose to do that when you realized that it would hurt him.
and yes, it ultimatly is his responsability as commander in chief, even if he didn't know about it.
