most cookie programs out there would reject cookies, but I think norton internet security allows you to accept cookie (since some sites such as email sites won't function correctly if you won't accept their cookies) but won't let your browser to send cookie info back to the server. are there any other programs (freeware would be nice..but shareware is ok too) that works like this?
www.launch.com only allows you to view one music video before you register and will force you to register if you want to view another one..and they would know if you've been to their site b/c of a cookie. sure I can delete it but it's such a hassle. and other sites are like this too, such as itarget.com (free phone cards). so a program like internet security would be helpful in this case.
on a side note (didn't feel like dedicating a whole new post), I submitted a question to both pc world and pc mag last year around early 2000. they send you $50 if they feature your question in their magazine (and pc mag will send you a t-shirt too). both took a while to send my check. I had to email pcworld before they sent me one, which was several months later. and I had to mail pcmag 3 times before they sent me one. the last email was around june 2000, and that's when I gave up. and today when I got the mail, lo and behold, a WHOLE YEAR later, I got my $50 check! so I'm happy
they still owe me my t-shirt though.
