Amend the election process. We have a list of candidates, and one more line. "none of the above".

If "None" gets the vote, the have to present new candidates. Some real accountability from political parties than cannot be bought off.

They need to make elections 100% paid for by taxes. Not only would this open the election process to more people but also would take a lot of the corruption out, no more favors for campaign contributions. Not to mention it would free up our elected officials to do their job and stop spending all their time looking for money for the next election. The amount in taxes money that would be spent would be miniscule compared to the amount of money saved from the corruption that would be taken out.

Fantastic idea!!!

This alone would give me tremendous interest in politics. Rather than choosing between scum, slime, and sh!t.

Sounds good. Give them 6 months and hold elections again. It would even allow a president to be in office indefinitely, which may in some cases be good without locking him in for too long. It would be like interviewing. If I run a company and I'm looking to fill a spot, I can continually interview indefinitely until somebody comes along. If they all suck, I don't hire.

I would prefer we be allowed to vote for or against every candidate on the ballot. This way we don't wind up electing someone the majority hates because of our corrupted two-party system. Each vote against counts as a negative, each vote for counts as a positive. Mix your votes however you see fit. Whoever has the highest vote count wins.

I would like this and the ability to vote as a ranking of favorite, next favorite, and so on such that if my preferred doesn't win my next preferred gets my vote and so on?

That way I could vote third party and not waste a vote.

Let's face it, when it comes to the general election (not necessarily the primary), everyone is voting against an opponent rather than for a candidate. Why not just make the anti-voting official, and have everyone check who they would NOT want to be elected. Then the guy with the least votes wins. Or did we already do that in 2000 & 2004?
