I think it'd be cool to use it. Before I think people kind of looked down on it. Now that it's a pay service, you can probably rest assured there aren't too many fakes on there.

I mean some 15 year old jokester is not going to shell out the $5 bucks a month or whatever to trick someone.

Friend and a client of mine uses match.com.

A couple of his experiences:

1) Met a woman who he considers a great friend. They hang out a lot.

2) Met a woman, they went out for a drink. He had one drink, she had four. They went next door for food. She had another four drinks. He cut the "date" short and said he'd call the next day. The next day, he calls, makes sure she got home ok. Two days later, she emails him, swearing up a storm. Then he gets an email from a gay personals site, saying his listing was now online. Then he gets an email saying his listing was so offensive it was removed. So, long story short, he met a psycho hose beast.

I would consider both positive. I mean you can chalk it up to experience. I beats doing nothing.
