Speaking of incest...How about a step?

I've been curious as to what people think about sexual relations with a step sibling. Is that immoral or wrong? I'm not going to go into depths about this, but I've known someone that openly admitted their physical relationship for their step. Anyway, living in Tennessee, this is expected (HELP ME I AM IN HELL).

Points of view? Comments? Flames?

I WELCOME THE ONSLAUGHT OF "You must dig your step sister" COMMENTS!

:D

dude... get a life... find someone you aren't related to and disappear into main stream society. These questions are rediculous.

how's this for wierd.

I know a girl who in middle school (7th grade) went out with some guy for a little while (jr high romances aren't very long) but it turns out their parents met, and they got married. As far as I know they didn't do anything after their parents got together, but kind of freaky knowing that you kissed your step-sibling and who knows whatelse.

I mean, genetically there's nothing wrong with it, but if you've been raised with someone as a sibling, and then turn around an shag them, pretty damn incestous.

What about this example:you're adult step-children, and you aren't living in the same house, and were never raised as brother and sister, only meeting a few times ,but sparks flew?. Not saying it's right, but it's seems like it's a different situation all together. (only playing devils advocate and presenting a different situation)

Yeah... a "situation" for one of those sick sex-story books.

I'd be alright with that and probably pursue a relationship after talking to her. The situation of growing up with the sibling, then that's really different. Still, is it WRONG? I honestly can say that I don't have a clue. I guess there are many factors.

There's still a concern about genetics and offspring. Want to spend the rest of your life taking care of kids with disability challenges?? ;)

How is there a concern if you don't share the same genes? You were both born before your mother and step father (or vice versa) got together so therefore no gene sharing.

Think as if I were giving it to your mother.

Mom jokes are always funny, especially if they are directed at someone else :)

Hahahahahah. It's late.

There is no genetic problem to think about, obviously, but the social stigma of "dating your brother" is just too much to bear. Incest is one of the great taboo's, at least in this culture. No amount of explaining, "she's not really my sister" would ever get you out of the stigma of being an inbreeding redneck or something like that :)

Funny.. there's a genre of porn that deals with this: "It's not like you're really my daughter.." "Oh daddy.."

Again, another social/cultural taboo that has no basis in genetic reality.

Ok this is completely stupid. In this case, the only thing setting these two apart from everyone else is that they have the same last names.

I don't really think that's wrong. In fact, a good friend of mine moved (down south, go figure!) and then his dad got re-married. His step sisters are pretty hot! Anyway, when I went down to visit him he was living with his step sister and admitted he was having a relationship... but seeing as how they didn't grow up like that it falls into your category and I really don't think its wrong. (although they didn't want anyone else knowing)

Exactly my point. Even though there really isn't anything wrong with this, they don't want anyone to know. The stigma of the taboo is too strong. *Insert Sociological ramblings from my Deviant Behavior class*

The question should be How do you feel about having a relationship with a step sibling? It is your life. Forget what others think.
