Speaking of heavy cameras, 3200mm goodness.

I got a Kenko 1.4X teleconverter in the mail today, so I decided to stack all my TCs.

8lb 5oz, 20.5 inches, 500mm x 2 x 1.4 x 1.4 x 1.6 (crop factor) = 3200mm

Bigma + Sigma 1.4X EX TC + Kenko Pro 300DG 1.4X TC + Tamron SP AF 2X TC

I couldn't fit it in my light box so part of it stuck out.

TC sharpness tests:

I took a bunch of test shots with this setup and took note of the sharpness.

1.4X + 1.4X + 2X: uhhhhhh.... not really good enough to resolve anything other than thick details. Color saturation, color accuracy, and contrast go out the window. Focusing is very hard at anything other than infinity.

Kenko 1.4X: very nice and sharp. Sharper than the Sigma. Will fit all lenses.

Sigma 1.4X: noticeably softer than the Tamron. stupid design (lens elements stick out, meaning it's incompatible with many lenses), is only compatible with the Bigma 50-500mm from 100mm onwards, otherwise the element that sticks out of the TC hits the Bigma's rear element.

Tamron 2X: ok sharpness

Kenko 1.4X + Sigma 1.4X: oddly enough, SHARPER than the single Tamron 2X.
