I love the Japanese language. I learned some of it while watching Japanese anime. I think it sounds better than English.

It's not a bad sounding language, but I don't think that it sounds good when sung.

In contrast I wish I could speak English like a true redneck southerner who's dearly into Nascar, Skoal and big belt buckles.

which dialect of either?

Many languages sound better than english as english is more stated than composed.

I need to learn Japanese though, my wife's parents do not speak english.

Got to love eBay! (just kidding...met her and married her quite a few years ago while she was here on an H1B doing J2EE)

After putting up with Japanese music all my life, listening to some good rock was like seeing the light for the first time.

It's truly funny how many people start liking Japanese after watching too much anime.

How about the food? I have a friend that's into Manga and Anime and he tries all the food he reads about or sees. Ranmune, seasoned cuttle fish and miso soup come to mind. Actually tried it myself. They're good.

Happy Holidays,

Just have fun remembering kanji...
But they do modify verbs to suit the conditions (past, don't want to, can't etc.)
