i have the cheap cyber acustics 5 pc surround sound speakers and i have one sound out,i put in one of those splitters for 2 in one and the sound only comes out of the subwofer and one speaker.can these be played this way or do i need 2 out connectors. thanks mike

are you using mono splitters or stero splitters? Probably not related to your problems but a thought......

also, what kind of sound card is it?

usually, for a 5 piece surround set, you need a sound card with multiple outputs

the motherboard is a pcChips m810lmr with onboard sound one speaker out,i dont care about the souround sound i am just looking to get all the speakers to work,the splitter i bought at radio shack.

are you sure, as was mentioned above, that the splitter is stereo and not mono?

Well, some one has the same thinking as I do, to tell mono from stero, if I remember right, is look at the jack and if there are 2 'circles' going around the metal jack it's stereo, if there is one 'circle' going around the metal jack, mono..... I'm going to double check at Rat Shack's website.

i have the gold Y adaptor with 2 rings but i noticed on radio shack there is another Y adapter with 2 rings and it says mono.

Well if that doesn't just destroy what I knew about jacks, guess I don't know jack 🙂
