Speakers

Whenever I play my Altec Lansing ALC221 speakers, I have a horrible static. There's nothing really near them...any ideas?

If you have or can borrow other speakers, trying them out will tell you if it's the speaker or the sound card / onboard sound.

Bad soundcard or Electric and/or magnetic interference.
