Had a topic on this a few months ago to get an idea on ideas for my HT setup. With the current deal on tSc speakers not sure if I should jump or hold off...

Currently Have:
Receiver - Onkyo 605
Fronts - Polk R30 (Deal from Outpost)
Center - Polk CSi25
Sub - Dayton SUB-120 12" 150 Watt

Or some other configuration from them?

Update
I think I'm getting the tSc dipoles and am just going to do a sound test with them. If they don't sound good I can always ship them back on their dime.

I have the speaker itch again and am considering replacing the fronts... in the $300-$400 range (taxes/shipping included). I'm really considering the Frys deal on the Polk rti8's right now.

Thoughts?

I don't think so, no. You aren't going to see a big difference. It's just not that big of an upgrade. It's a lateral move at best.

If you want bookshelves, look for some Polk RTi 4's or 6's for $200 a pair on Ebay. If you want another set of floor standers, save up some more money and hold out for the recurring RTi'8 sales for $150 a piece at Fry's. Both of those will be timbre matched to your Csi25 center channel so you don't have to upgrade that.

For the rears though, I do suggest the dipole surrounds from tSc. I paid $109 a pair for mine and the dipole do a great job of dispersing the sound around the room and eliminating and sound localization that direct firing surrounds may cause.

You'll be hard up to find a better value/function for the money with those. And with the surround speakers they don't have to be matched to your mains.

Cool, this was exactly what I was looking for... gives me something to plan for. Think I'll save up for the RTi8s.

Would my receiver be powerful enough to handle everything? I don't know too much about how much it can handle... :)

Thanks!

Something like this with a massive, powered 12" sub?

I had the sats hooked up to my Z5500 and they sounded great, plus you get all matching sat speakers, and the sub for a little over $200.

Just a thought for its what I have on my list to buy if I ever get the funds to do so, except all I need is the sub.

This set up has had great reviews as well.
