Speakers questions...Z560 vs Paradigm vs. what I have now

OK. Here we go. I have BA 790s. I'm not particularly disappointed with the sound, I just have the itch.
The Logitechs will be an upgrade over what I have. I can get them for about $150. Now a pair of Atom's or Micros will run me about 180, or 150 respectively. I'd also need a reciever, so figure about 100 for a cheapy(only used for the PC). Now, without a subwoofer, will the added SQ of the Paradigms be enough to sway me from needing a sub, or am I SOL? I don't really want to spend more then 250 right now. I don't really care about the 4.1, because I use my Sennheisers when I listen at night and playing games.
Help!
Also, you HT gurus, are the Atoms really $30 better then the Micros? Because money is a definite object here.
I know normally this wouldn't be a question, and if I hadn't just bought a damn PS2)) I could easily afford the real setup. Need advice!

Definitely get the Atoms. They're much better than Micros (better tweeter, and larger woofer) and the price difference is small. Titans would be even better if you don't have a sub, but they cost a little more.


If you don't care about 4.1, you're much better off with a good pair of bookshelfs like the Atom and a decent amp. The only thing the Logitech might be better in is very low bass since they have a sub, but the satellites are a joke compared to the Paradigm.

If you're getting them for music, then the Logitech or Diamond don't stand a chance.

I do realize that the Paradigms will crap all over the others. But price is an issue. Would the Z560s or the Diamond's stand up to it at all? Cause if I can spend like 100-130 less I'd like to
Basically I'm trying to convince myself I'll get by with the Klipsch 2.1, Diamond, or Z560s.
Of those 3, which is the best? Diamond used to be the undisputed king, but where do they stand now?

They are the best resource I've found for PC audio, for the most part. They would probably reccomend the logitechs from what I've read in their reviews.

Well, what do you intending doing with the speakers? If it is for games and some music here and there, I will go with the Z560. It is decent enough for music and the bass will definitely add fun to playing games. If your main use is music then I would go with the Paradigm Atoms.

Well, mainly for music. I do play UT and the like, but that would be far from the main usage of the speakers.
From what I'm getting, the Diamond's are superior to the Klipsch by far, so that rules the Promedias out, as well as the Micros, since they apparently suck, compared to the Atoms
So, the Z-560(150), Diamond 4100s(180), or the Atoms(roughly 300)

Diamonds are eliminated, since they're too much for me to spend on PC speakers(200 with shipping)
Z560 or Paradigm...
