I've got a set of 5.1 Cambridge Soundworks speakers - DTT2200s that I've had for a while.
A couple days ago I started getting some rapid clicking (2 times a second or so) in one of the speakers. It tends to be louder when the volume control is softer. Recently the sound moved to another speaker and tends to move randomly and isn't isolated to any speaker. I checked all the connections and they seem good. I unplugged the speakers from the PC but I still got the clicking, so I guess it's not the sound card. Other googling suggested it could be the power going into the speakers, but I changed the outlet/surge protector to its own line, and I still get the clicking.
Are the speakers shot? Or is there a trick/some troubleshooting I haven't thought of? Thanks.
