SPEAKERS: Altec Lansing 45.1, Logitech Z-540 or What?

Im planning to buy speakers to my computer.. My friend got these Altec Lansing 295 (coming with DELL PC's), and the sound are pretty "fat".
I havent tested any other speakers... so I dont know which to buy! 🙁 Could someone help me? 😉

The ones I've laid my eyes on is:
Altec Lansing 45.1 (2 satellites 1 subwoofer) (nice design, good sound (i think, they r newer than acs295)) $90
Logitech Z-540 (4 satellites 1 subwoofer) $80
Hercules XPS-510 (5 satellites 1 subwoofer) $95
Creative Labs Speaker FPS 1600 (4 satellites 1 subwoofer) $85

Guys, help me out, please!
 
you could buy my speakers, (klipsch 2.1 promedia) (PM(private message)me if interested)

or get logitech z-560s for like 130$the z-540s are nice also
 
I suggest doing a search on this forum for "speakers". There are a LOT of threads about this subject with great info. Many talk about every speaker you mentioned.

If your gonna get the logitechs, at least get the z-560 (not the 540). I got the 560s. Some people complain they blow too easily. I havnt had this problem. I just make sure my main system volume in windows is turned up, so I dont have to worry about the amp working to hard.

The pro-medias are excellent speakers too. I listened to them as well as 3 other brands. I chose the 560s cuz they have excellent base punch. Which is what I was looking for, a lot of thump. But to each his own.

 
Can someone explain to me the fuss about the Logitech speakers in the Hot Deals forums. Everyone is so excited about getting 130 dollar speakers. Maybe I am deaf, I don't know, but my 20 dollar speakers produce the same sound as those in my co-worker's house.
 
If you are saying your stock PC speakers are as loud and the same quality as the Z-560s.... then yes, you are deaf -OR- your friend doesnt have them set up properly.

I had Monsoon flat panels before I got the Z-560s... the difference bewtween the two is night and day. There is a 1000% difference bewteen stock speakers and nice mid-range speakers (pro-media, logitechs, Karmens etc).
