Hi

I live in New Delhi,India and the speakers found there will be more expensive than those found here with less variety.

I want speakers which satisfy the following properties in order of importance :

1)Good quality ,should be high in a choice of
high low mid

2)Quality bass should be mid-high in a choice of high mid low

3)Overall should be decent

where creative inspire 2.1 is low in all the 3 parameters.

The street price should not be more than 80$

THe speakers can belong to :
Altec Lansing (2.1,4.1,5.1)
Creative i-intrigue(2.1)
creative sbs
logitech(2.1,4.1,5.1)

Depends on what your main use is...if mostly music, you should probably go for a 2.1 set. Gaming may make you want a 4.1/5.1 set. I don't really have too many recommendations, but if you decide you want a 5.1 set, the Logitech Z640's are probably as good as you're going to get in that price range. I have a set myself and they're quite competent. 🙂

Main purose:
Gaming
Music

I want to go for 5.1,how is the quality of your 640?
the x 530 logitech is also for the same cost.

Ah, I forgot about the 530's...a friend of mine has that set. I think either of them will be quite good for an entry-level surround sound application. 🙂

Not sure what the THD is, I'd have to look it up (I forget if it's on the box or not). Sound quality is probably a little less than an entry-level Sony system, I would imagine.

Which is better logitech z 640 or x 530,also I have heard that assebled speakers are far better than most other speakers?

Never actually heard the 640's, but I believe they are supposed to sound slightly better. But the 530's look alot better IMO.
