Speaker Stand Question

I'm looking at stands for my "soon to be purchased" Infinity Primus 150's. The speaker dimensions are H-13xW-7.5xD-10.5
I want to know the minimum top platform Depth and Width that these will be able to stand on.

Will 4.5x4.5" work? It seems small but I'm just not sure. I want them to be fairly steady.
If this STAND won't work, please feel free to give some advice. Just remember that the stands need to be 31-33" in height.

Thanks 🙂

How much traffic will there be by the stands? A smaller footprint might not be a big deal unless people are constantly walking by, which means the speaker would be easier to knock off, unless you're planning on securing it somehow. For instance, the matching stands to my Dyn's are probably smaller by an inch on each side, but I can screw the stand into the bottom of the speakers.

Not much traffic, as they'll be sitting in the corners of the room.

You say your Dyn's are smaller by an inch on each side but we're talking (with the stands above) my Primus 150's will hang over 3"x 6"

31" Might be a little high. I use 28" and they are perfect.
The general rule of thumb is tweeters at ear level at your seated position.

Might want to take a look at this http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?accsrack&1141411770

If you can, try and get them out from the rear walls and side walls for best imaging and soundstage.
Try 18-24" away from walls, space them 6-8' apart and sit 6-8' in front (triangle) aim the tweeters at
your head (toe-in) and listen, then adjust all of the above to your listening preference.

Shouldn't be an issue.

I have the JBL E50's bookshelf (min-towers) on small stands about 5"x6" and no problems. My stands have 4 metal points that stick up so total surface area that the actual speaker is sitting on is about 1/4 of an inch.

Actually, I need 36" height. Measuring from the floor to my ear is 47". Take the 36" stand added to the 13" speaker is 49....... Subtract a couple inches from the top of the speaker is where the tweeter sits. This is what I'm looking at now..... 36" speaker stands

So, FMR-------- You're saying that 7.5x10.5 speakers, will fit on a stand that's 4.5x4.5" ??......... Just about to hit the order button here, I need to make sure 🙂

ha, only 80 dollars for a stand? my crazy audiofile brother shelled out 900 dollars for the stands, and that was just the stands! 😱

**LMAO**
I thought I was bad for buying $1,500.00 HT Speakers. $900.00 for stands is just wakko.

Is $1,500 for the entire system including sub?

And yeah, $900 for stands is nuts...mine were only $500. 😛

Just for the two Front speakers. They're Polk rti 12's, no need for a stand 😉

Ah, I was gonna say...something's wrong with that price 😛

You know, I don't miss floorstanders as much as I thought I would...these Dyn's are amazing and they're probably still not broken in yet.

I looked up the JBL speakers you mentioned and they are pretty decent, what do they run a pair price wise? They almost look like a Big Surround speaker.
