I want to buy new speakers that will support 3D sound. I would like to know if EAX can produce 3D sound with two speakers.
 
Producing 3D sound from two points works pretty well for headphones, but two speakers in front of you are going to have a harder time doing that. They'll certainly be able to effectively produce sounds that would sound like they were coming anywhere along a horiaontal line between the two of them, but it would be hard to get good convincing results that there is anything coming from the sides beyond the speakers and behind you.

That said, I know a lot of people don't have the desire or the placement options to effectively set up speakers behind them. If getting a surround sound set would mean that the speakers pretty much would be set up in front of you in a row, then a set of 2.0/2.1 but higher quality speakers would probably be a better bet.

Do you already have a soundcard? What are you looking to spend?

If music is important, a higher quality 2.0/2.1 set would probably work fine for you. If gaming is the priority, I'd say try to get a surround set going (or get headphones or something)
 
If you are willing to shell out about 115 you can get a set of logitech z-2300s. From what i read they are the best 2.1 system you can get. I

f you really need the best of surround sound your choices are pretty much a good pair of earphones or a 5.1 set. Just make sure you have the room and good placement for the 5.1 Ive seen a lot of people with a 5.1 set that just have them all lined up in the front.

I'd show you 'one' of the best 2.1 systems you can get, but you'd probably start weeping in despair at the price, so let's just say the 2300s are FAR from the best 2.1 system you can get and leave it at that 🙂

I think to buy these speakers but I don't know if can produce 3D sound.

I don't have sound card. I have embedded snd card on my mobo the codec is ALC850.

It really doesn't matter. In fact if you see THX you probably want to avoid the speakers, it just means you're paying an unnecessary extra sum of money.

Well for 3d gaming, you'd get the best results from a well set up surround set of speakers and a soundcard capable of good gaming effects.

i am one of the people out there who hate companies who advertise bs to make more money. one of the biggest people out there who do this is bose. THX on the otherhand is a certification that was developed by george lucus. Also- thx certified speakers are NOT more exspensive and showy than other speakers. Take a look at any logitech speakers... also the klipsh promedia.
