If such magic programs existed, people wouln't pay $10,000 for high end B&Ks and such.

I'm sorry, but no software is going to overcome a hardware limitation, especially on Speakers.

I guess software can kinda speed up a slow processor or low RAM, but it cannot boost the power of an amplifier or the frequency response of crappy speakers.

The only thing I'd say to try is maybe using the Graphic Equalizer that came with the soundcard drivers (if there is one) and try to tweak that. Other than that.... I'm outta ideas... Sorry.

Nope sorry bro. You might get an equalizer for the prog, but it wont make the speakers themselves sound better...

that's tough, buddy. Generally sound cards don't have the required power to make speaks sound really good. Go to compUSA and check out different speaks... making sure they are unplugged.

May I suggest: HEADPHONES! Generally, even cheap ones sound fairly good.

I use these Sony speakers (SRS-A11). They're pretty small, and don't require an outside power source unless you want it (wherein you can use an AC adapter or 4 AA batteries). IMO, the sound quality is ok better than your average cheapo speakers.
