Speaker positioning. height, distance apart?

Should i place the speakers as far away from eachother as possible?, and should they all be at the same height levels??? thxx
 
I'm no audiophile, but as long as they're at the same height, equal distance from your head, and pointing toward you, I think you should be fine.
