I have no idea why, but my wife's speakers just starting making this pop sound about every 20 minutes. They are Logitech speakers, can't remember the model number but they are only 2.1. She is using onboard sound. The speakers sound great still...its just this annoying POP about every 20 minutes. Any ideas?

EMI, static build up, loose connection, dammaged wire, IRQ conflict.
What is EMI and how do I see if there is an IRQ conflict...

Using WinXP Pro if that matters.

Electromagnetic Interference.

Make sure your speakers aren't too close to your monitor, see if your speaker wires are running through some rats nest of power cables etc..

For troubleshooting you can also completely disable your soundcard in control panel for a while but leave the speakers on. If you still get the pop it's definately hardware related. If not, start looking at drivers or something software related.

If you determine it's hardware related:
Next drag the whole speaker set out into the living room and hook it up. Still get the pop? Bad speakers. Don't get the pop? Could be connections, static, grounding etc.
