Speaker/Microphone headset over Remote Desktop?

Hi. I'm trying to remote into a Vista machine using Vista's built in remote desktop applicaiton. I need for the microphone and speaker of my usb headset to be recognized and work on the remote machine. People don't seem to be very optimistic about this working after a fair bit of googling. I have the option to allow plug and play devices to work on the remote machine checked and it does pick up my headset, but only enables the speaker functionality on it. I have tried multiple brands of headsets.

Has anyone gotten this to work? Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thank you.
 
As you've noted, the speakers should work fine, Remote Desktop will pass through audio-out very easily. However I've never seen mic support, I'm not even sure why it's needed. I can't imagine you'll have any luck there.

I don't suppose you'll tell us why you have such a strange request?
