I'd argue it's about the Ego.
They ID as Republican, and Tucker is Republican. Therefore they will absorb self affirming news and information, while ignoring everything else.
I would surmise that it takes considerable conditioning and practice for humans to behave otherwise. To seek out signal from noise, truth from lies.
