Which of the following 2 speaker systems is better:
for gaming-main
for music and lastly for movies though movies and music is less required

mainly sound quality is required.

Both systems are 5.1, not 2.1. In any event, I would prefer the X530 - While both offer nearly identical power output, the 530 is a newer model with better features. Looks better too IMO.

640 Specs:
# Experience Dolby Digital sound for music, movies and games
# Innovative, dual-chamber subwoofer delivers twice the bass energy of similar subwoofers
# Four stylish satellites stand on desk or mount on wall to provide smooth mid and high frequencies
# Center channel speaker with system controls rests on your monitor or your desk
# Magnetic shielding in speakers protects your equipment
# Internal power supply eliminates bulky wall adapters

530 specs:

* Frequency Directed Dual Driver (FDD2) satellite technology produces a uniform sound field for full, rich sound
* Matching front & rear satellites deliver balanced surround sound
* Dedicated center channel makes dialogue clear and intelligible
* Dynamic, real-time bass equalization maximizes bass response while minimizing distortion
* Ported subwoofer design displaces more air for deeper bass
* Headphone jack enables private listening
* Master volume and subwoofer level controls placed for quick, convenient access
* Brilliant design allows speaker to be used on table top or wall mounted
* Booming, crisp audio at amazing 70 watts RMS
* Wide frequency response of 40 Hz - 20 kHz

I think he meant that there are two speaker systems being considered, not that they have two speakers each.

I've heard the z-640s and they are a nice budget system. I haven't heard the 530s yet though. I'm interested in hearing opinions of people who have actually heard them both.

I haven't heard the Z-640 but I have an X-530. The sound quality is great for games and DVDs and it is alright for music. I've heard good things about the Z-640 from my friend so either choice would probably be fine.

If you plan on having any decent music quality, i'd op out of those logitech tincans and get something with a little more balance.
Out of those two, I'd get the X-530, unless you're a basshead, then the z640s would suit you great.
I'd personally go for the Creative T5400 out of all of those.

If you're a basshead, get a Dayton sub, 2 RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter, and headphones.

I want a 5.1speaker system. Also, is there any diff in sound quality and not bass between creative inspire 2.1 and 5.1 as I really don't like inspire 2.1 .
Which is better amongst :
Altec Lansing 5100 and logitech x 530 as I have heard that logitech don't produce a very balanced sound.
