Thanks for the reply!

I can't connect these directly to the PC using optical?

So, to clarify, I need the following:

Pyle Stereo amp, plus 2 sets of the speaker cables you linked to hook the speakers up to amp

And it comes with a built in set of RCA cables to plug in to the PC?

Is the above understanding correct? :)

home theater speakers tend to be unpowered, and as such need an amplifier

you only need to buy 1 set of those speaker cables
you'll have to cut and strip the cables.
that's a 50 ft cable, you'll probably need 2 x ~5 ft cables depending on your setup

so, you'd cut 2 lengths of cable ~ 5 ft long each (or however long of a cable you need)
then you'd strip both ends of each ~5 ft cable

you can strip the cables with a dedicated wire stripping tool purchasable at any hardware supply store.
if you're careful you can just use scissors to strip the cables
*by strip the cables, i mean remove the rubber coating, do this by cutting through the coating and pulling the rubber coating off*

the end result should be two ~5 ft cables, with both ends as shown in the monoprice picture

i doubt your pc accepts RCA, so you'll need the 3.5mm to rca connector in the customers frequently buy section

note:if you need your speaker cables to be >10 ft long each, buy 16 or 14 gauge wires
