I am looking for some reviews advice on a new speaker setup for my comp. I play WoW and listen to some music. I want to get a 2.1 setup since i dont have room for a 5.1 setup anymore. I also wanna stay in the 150.00 range so any good tips would be appreciated. I also read somethings about rthe Altec Lansing GT 5051 with the supposed surround sound from it, saw good and bad so if anyone had tried that please let me know.

Yes that is one of the ones I have looked at, I wanna get info from people that have used them and have 1st hand feedback. Wether it be Logitech, Creative, Klipsch etc.

well, i've never had a pair, but i have a friend who has had a pair, and from what hey says (he is also a home audio buff), they provide crisp, clear highs, and has solid low end.

The Logitech Z 2300 and the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 are the 2 I am looking at right noe leaning towards the Klipsch unless there is anymore info.

Try to snag a klipsch ifi off ebay. They have a better subwoofer, and better satelites than the promedias. I upgraded my promedia ultra 5.1s with RSX-4 satelites (the ifi uses RSX-3) and they are much nicer than the speakers that it came with.

I am buying them retail in case there are issues I wanna have the option to take them in close by, even tho the Ebay thing isnt a bad idea.

Try Costco. iFis are $199 there. I know it's above the $150 cutoff you listed, but the difference between them and the Klipsch 2.1s are far greater than the price differential would indicate; well for one they are actually $400 retail. And the satellites seperately sell for $300, plus you get the sub and the controller and the ipod connector...:D

I have listened to all the 2.1 & 5.1 systems available at the local retailers. This includes Klipsch, Altec lansing, logitec & creative products. For a 2.1 system with music in mind the altec lansing MX5021 system is the best to my ears.
Logitechs seem to be off in the bass IMHO (geared toward slam not accuracy) klipsch tend to be good at everything but for some reasons the sound does not grab you. They are great because they are not bad at anything. Creative is almost but not quite, usually lacking in bass. Altec lansing is the best all around for 2.1 imho.
Do a search you will find a ton of reviews saying they are tops.
Do not confuse the mx5021 with the mx5020.
The above comments are geared toward music. If your looking for movies/games I would consider the speakers you mentioned or the others here that the other guys have mentioned.
