I have a set of Bose Companion 2 speakers hooked up to my computer, and have recently used the headphone jack in them frequently. Today I bought a new set of headphones from Apple, and (seemingly) when I started using them, now sound will still come out of the speakers themselves while the headphones are plugged in (sound plays through both). Several old headphones do this as well, when before they did not.
Did something in the speakers short out?
These are one of the newer styles of earbuds that also have a mic on them, but I have a set of blackberry headphones (stereo, plus mic, *exact* same ring configuration) and this hasn't happened before.
If anyone can shed any light on what happened, or if it could maybe be fixed, it would be greatly appricated.
