Speaker crackle

I have the Energy Take 5s connected to a Denon receiver and last night we lost power and cable a few times. Today the speakers crackle every 30 seconds or so. Did the power outages do some permanent damage?

the crackle gets louder when I turn up the volume but not simultaneously as I turn the knob.

It was both surrounds. I unplugged the banana clips from the receiver, re-tightened, and plugged them back in. Everything seems to be fine now. Thanks,
