Title says it all, price for the I-Trigue is about $40 less though AR. If anyone has any other suggestions for 2.1's around $100 I would love to hear it.

2.1 Systems Reviewed

seems like for 2.1 they chose Altec Lansing 4121

How about for $150 you get Logitech Z5300 or Z560s thats a huge step up, unless you find the other 2.1 systems for a lot cheaper than $100.

I have the L3500s. I prefer them to my previous speakers, the Monsoon PM9s. The 3500s have a nice, wide soundstage thanks to those sidefiring midrange drivers, and they just sound very pleasant to the ears. They don't provide a hyped up, in your face sound, which is what the PM9s had, but instead sound quite relaxed. This makes them easy to listen to for long periods of time, whereas I found the PM9s fatiguing over time.

so.... you can't play them very loud without distortion is what your saying? this might be a bad thing since i love to blast my music,

I think he meant that the L3500 provides a more laid back sort of sound...he didn't mention anything about distortion...

I personally don't play my stuff loud, and I've never tried either, but with 100 watts behind them, I don't doubt that they can bring the roof down if needed. Toms Hardware actually rated them as one of the louder speaker sets in that review of theirs.

What I meant was they provide a more laid back type of sound...if you want something more in your face, i.e. lots of treble and bass and little midrange, you'd probably want the Klipsch, Altecs, or Monsoons. The L3500s are midrange oriented with a less outstanding treble. The bass you could bump as high or low as you want.

why not so much for games? just cuz it's 2.1? or is there something with the sound quality when playing games?
