simple question...i have a comp that has 2 front audio ports, 1 for a mic and 1 for headphones.

inside the comp there are a regular mic and speaker pin going from the front ports into the case.

i was just wondering what these 2 cables would be used for? do they go all the way into the ports in the back maybe? or possibly they plug into a sound card?

i dunno...can anyone help me out here?

those cables connect to the mb and in most cases, they will be jumpers to change so they work, but in most cases the rear ports will be disabled in the process, there are a few boards out that will allow both front and rear to work at the same time, since we dont know the mb make or model, its hard to say...

next question is are the cables from the front of your case the kind where they have actual plugs on them that plug itno a hole(male) or are they plugs that go over a post (female)?
