Speaker Beeps and Front Panel Jumper?

I just have a quick question. I recently built a new rig and I used the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 motherboard.

My question is fairly simple. I may have plugged in some the front panel jumpers upside down. It's hard for me to tell which way they go. I usually have to flip them a couple of times to get them right when I am assembling a rig.

Anyways, when I power on the computer there is one long (and much louder) beep, followed by the familiar short beep that I usually hear. I checked the manual and it says one long and one short would indicate a DRAM or Motherboard problem.

Would having the front panel jumpers connected incorrectly prompt the system to do this? Or do I have a bigger problem on my hands that I need to identify?

Thanks for any help you can offer me. :)

By front panel you mean the usual stuff, power/reset switch and a couple of LEDs, right? Switches don't have polarity anyway, and if you got a LED wrong, all that'll happen is it won't light up. No damage done.

When you screw up on other things, sound, USB, firewire or such, you can inflict permanent damage to the mainboard.

Yeah, I just mean the usual stuff (power/reset switch and a couple of LEDs, as you mentioned).

I don't screw up on the other things, because they are all clearly labeled as to how to be plugged in.

So, if it's not the front jumpers causing the one long beep, one short beep on power up, it looks as thought it's probably going to be something else. DRAM/Motherboard is a pretty broad spectrum. I'm not excited to figure out what it's beeping about since, from what I can tell, it works completely fine.
