I just bought a pair of Boston Acoustics BA735 Digital speakers, and these apparantly have only SPDIF inputs (thats what the website said ...
I got it from the Hot Deals section .. bought it at Tigerdirect and said it was the Gateway Overstock). I have a Hercules Fortissimo II, and all it has
is analog front/rear and optical i/o. Is there a way to use my soundcard with these speakers? If not, then whats a good soundcard with SPDIF
output? My budget is around 50$.

Thanks.

Some people have said that the C-media looks like a nice card. I don't have any experience with this personally, but I would check it out if I were you. It's under $50 and I think it has optical and spdif.

you could try a optical to coax converter at
parts express.

I've found electrical spdif to be more susceptible to electrical interference than optical.

wouldn't be bad to keep the ability to output optical naturally.
