Sparkle noise killer feature.

On my sparkle 300wat it says with noise killer on it. Well its noisey and I want to kill it. How would I go about doing that? Is it suppost to do it on its own or do I need to do the settings in WinXP or BIOS? Or is it BS? If so I think I will drop a Panaflo L1A in there and just hope its enough to keep the PSU cool.

I have 3 different model 235W ATX Sparkle PSUs, and they all have a "with Noise Killer" sticker on them. It's not a feature you active through your O/S or BIOS. You'll need to switch the fan if you think the current one is too noisy.

hmm noise killer eh, perhaps pointing a .45 too it and pulling the trigger?

I like my turbocool-atx 300 by PC Power Cooling but I still had to replace the fan with a ADDA whisper fan.

why does it say with noise killer if you have no way to turn the fan down? What does it mean? Is it like a marketing sceme like ATA133 is with Maxtor?

Yea, I've used a few of those Sparkle power supplies. They are very noisy but they do work extremely well and last forever. I don't remember why but I seem to remember the "noise killer" as having to do with electrical noise not the kind you hear.
