Around a couple weeks ago, I bought myself an EVGA 7900 GT. This is the factory OCed model that comes at 500 mhz core.
It worked fine at stock speed, however, it wouldnt even overlock 1 mhz with the coolbits utility auto detect. So I left it at stock speed.
It worked fine in rthdribl for a few hours, and wow for a few hours.
Today however, as I turned my pc on, the image got corrupted as windows loaded. I turned it off, reset my cmos and powered it back on. I see what I can only describe as a spark on the card, and it smelled like something was burning.
I took out the card, put my x800 back in, with no problems. On my 7900, you can literally see a black mark where the spark occured, and can still smell it as well. I'll post a picture of the site soon.
This is the 2nd card ive had from (the first one was RMAed as it gave corruption in quake IV). I've heard tho that EVGA is a solid company, what can be going wrong?
