Spare SSD, New Install or Image for it?

I've got a 60gb ssd that i've been using primarily for BF3 that I'm going to put into my whs2011 box for that OS. I was going to do a sanitary erase, then install the OS, but what do I do about the OS that's installed on my hdd that's on the server? Currently my setup is this on the whs2011 box:

OS installed on 1tb samsung spinpoint
2tb seagate portable hdd for backup.
Specs in my sig.

Do I just reformat the samsung once the OS is installed on the SSD, then just choose what I want to put back on it once is formatted from backup? Is there an easier away? If I remember right, whs11 partitioned the 1tb drive so that the OS is about 60gb. Would my ssd be too small for whs2011?

Technically its too small for WHS2011 but there is a way around that issue. You'll have to find the hack/fix somewhere, but basically it involves modifying one of the install files that forces a check on the drive size. If you can use the SSD somewhere else, it may be more beneficial. I'm not sure that WHS will see much benefit from an SSD.

Acronis 2012 is supported on WHS 2011. You might want to look into using that to image the WHS drive. You could image the WHS OS drive, put it on the SSD, then just hide the OS partition on the old HD. You could also use the built-in server backup function but i have no experience with it.

A sanitary erase is not necessary.

Hmmmm

Well Maybe I'll just keep it as is then. I'm not really into doing hacks, especially with whs2011 as I'm still familiarizing myself with it. The reason I asked was because I'm going to add an other hdd and I'll be replacing the cpu with an i5 2400 that I got super cheap off a friend for transcoding, so I thought I might see how it'll operate on an ssd. If it's too small though, I'd rather just save the time and effort of installing and setting up shares etc (I dont' have Acronis). Thanks.
