Spare Hard drives

I just looked in my junk box(where I keep all my old pc parts) and I found I've got 5 old drives!

I wonder if I'm weird.
How many spare drives you guys got?

I've got 3 dead drives I need to try and RMA within arms reach. 1 just outside of reach waiting to be installed.

Like Darth Cupcake, I give away old drives that are IDE or too small to be of any use (to me).

i sold my old drives, i threw the broken ones away...
Keeping them is a waste, they just go down in value, and if I need a replacement ASAP there is always a frys electronics... Even walmart (open 24/7) carries hardware items (not as large a selection as frys... but if you need it NOW)

3.2GB, 2x 6.4GB, 4x 10GB, 3x 20GB and a ton more. I don't actively use anything less than my TB drives now.
I can't believe how much I paid for a drive that holds less data than a DVD-R. 🙁

Yeah =( I payed about $250 for my old 4.3 gb drive.

My dad payed around $500 for a 40 mb drive, lol(before I was even born). That whole system worked until 2004.

Spares? I don't think I have any spares. I'm still using drives that are 7 years old. PC I'm on right now has 5 drives, 4 of them are IDE.

I've got:
640GB WD SATA 6400AAKS (F@H box)
640GB WD SATA 6400AAKS (2nd gaming rig)
320GB WD SATA (1st gaming rig)
320GB WD SATA (HTPC)
640GB WD SATA 6400AAKS (waiting to be installed into the first gaming rig)
500GB Seagate IDE (installed in main rig)
3x500GB Seagate IDE (replacements for when the HD in the main rig dies)
60GB Maxtor IDE (2.8Ghz HT P4, going to be sold soon)
40GB Maxtor IDE (still in box, shrink-wrapped)
80GB WD IDE (backups from previous main rig)
160GB WD IDE (backups from previous min rig)

Waiting to be put into the fileserver once it's built:
5x500GB Seagate 7200.11 SATA OEM
6x750GB Seagate 7200.11 SATA Retail
(Not looking forward to having to flash the firmware on all of those drives.)
