So I work a part time job(sort of full time during Christmas break) But I only make $7.63hr pretty much every check goes to rent/gas/food/tuition/living in general and the remainder usually into 401K that they deduct. I pretty much live paycheck to paycheck.

I am looking for any ideas that come to mind from all of you helpful folks on how to make some extra cash. I thought about another job, but they would have to work around my 1st jobs schedule and then my class schedule and almost all my free time is devoted to job 1.

I am slightly depressed that I can't really afford Christmas gifts for anyone this year, I was able to buy my GF one thing and thats it. Its all I can afford :(

So any ideas to help me out would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks all!

$7.63 an hour? Sorry man, that's gotta be rough.

You could do deliveries for courier services like UPS Sonic Air or the sort. They are always hiring freelance drivers, and you only take the jobs you want to take. They pay per mile, not sure how much, but it could be an easy way to make some cash for driving some packages around.

I don't know if you already do this... But not eating out at all can save you quite a good amount of money. Make sandwiches for lunch and try to cook something for dinner. It probably isn't going to help you much for this Christmas but hey maybe next year.

I don't eat out now, I can't afford it. My health is probably crap considering all I pretty much eat is top ramen, cup of noodles, PB&J and eggs.

And then do what, sell them? I'm not trying to stick my nose up but I'm not a girl scout. :p

Plus I don't want to be beat up by girl scouts for competing. :(

Oh I forgot about that. I've given plasma before. It's easy money and I believe you can do it twice a week or something.

Seasonal type work can pay pretty well with plenty of overtime. Here's a few things I did...

1) honey baked ham - 8 bucks an hour (18 years ago) and 60-70 hr weeks. Boy glazing those hams with a huge propane blowtorch was fun. Hard work though.
2) UPS package handler

Place that have huge need for seasonal help and you can make a pretty penny.

You could scavenge dumpsters and look for stuff to sell on Craigs List?

I don't know if it would be worth your time though.

Starbucks start around $8/hr and you get an automatic 10% raise after 6 months.

Full benefits if you avg 20hrs/week per quarter.

better yet, work for your school's computer dept.
at my school it was $12-15/hr for a lab monitor. ie: someone who sits there and helps students in the gemeral computer room. Most of the problems was printing related.

i mow lawns during the summer- 5-10 lawns to look after can make a lot of money, and once u get a reputation, the costomers just dont stop coming. 20-30 bucks a lawn, 3 lawns a day, 75 a day. 75/8= 9.375 an hour. But, i can get three lawns done in three hours, so thats 25 bucks an hour. hot damn!
