Sparc Assembly anyone???

Ok a friend of mine is having trouble writing a Sparc assembly subroutine. I have written sparc assembly but it has been like 3 years. The subroutine needs to count the trailing zeros of a IEEE floating point number. Anyone have some advice on this?
