Such as sounding out the "rr" sound. Do you have any suggestions on how to practice rolling your tongue? It's pretty difficult.

It's not really that hard. Just make a sound like your purring to get used to the way it feels. (Make sense?)

any suggestions on exercises to help me roll my tongue? i know a lot of spanish speakers tend to have a problem sounding out english words that start with "th" because it's new to them. is this kind of the same way with the "rr" sound?

<< i dont know. as a guy i tend to not purr that much >>

lol

Well, other than that I can't think of any particular exercise. Did you ever see the Ruffles commercials when the guy said "Rrrrruffles have rrrrrridges." It's just kind of like that. lol Some Spanish-speaking people have problems pronouncing words that begin with the letter v. Like violin. It would be biolin. Also words that begin with the letter r. My little cousin is 8 and Spanish was her first language. (You'd never tell. She's blonde with blue eyes. :) ) She has problems pronouncing some things. It's fun going places and her start to rattle off in Spanish and people look at her really weird. heehee

i put my tongue in the top right part of my mouth on that little ridge behind my front teeth. the right side of my tongue touches the bottom of my top right teeth. then i tense up my throat a bit and blow through my tongue. or something like that. its hard to describe.
