I just reinstalled my box, but somehow I got this spyware on my computer already. It sends me spam that opens up it's own window, and 9 times out of 10 it's an ad for some software claming to get rid of this spam. It appears to be using some sort of built in windows messenging ultility, or so the anti-pop ads claim. Is there some way to get rid of this or turn off the messenging utility? thanks

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Scroll down to Messenger. Right click and go to Properties, then click Stop. After it is stopped, under Startup type select Disabled. No more messenger. :)
