spam...gmail...dell...?

I recently signed up for the http://www.dell.com/holiday promotion that was posted in Hot Deals. I used my gmail account, and ever since then, I have been getting spam emails every day.

Has anyone else signed up for this and received spam, or is the gmail spam filter just bugging out again?

I hate spam.

You have to un-check it.

I signed up...not receiving anything out of the ordinary.

this is not out of the ordinary.

sweepstakes are intended to secretly lure you into promotional emails. you need to be very careful to read the fine print -- sometimes you need to check the box in order to be excluded from the mailing list, and other times you need to uncheck the box. be careful because occasionally their wording may throw you off.
