Spam faxes. Why do they still send these?

This seems so 1990s but i still see a regular stream of these. The ones that I find particularly strange are ones for local restaurants and other establishments. At least with internet spam there is usually no physical location for the company selling stuff, assuming it's not just an outright scam of course. But when you have a physical location nearby that you can just walk into it seems to me to reflect even worse on the company than some fly by night operation.

I went through he FCC process and, surprisingly, they stopped. I was getting three to four a day, reported one and they all stopped. Probably one spammer broadcasting all the crap.

IIRC I had to forward the fax to the FCC and fill out an online form. I received a confirmation a week or so later from the FCC.

Took maybe 15 minutes.

I would proably go through that trouble if it were a personal fax line (also this is Canada so the agencies would be diff) but this is a fax line at the store I work at soo.. I don't really care

Yeah me too. Still used a fair mount for sending copies of things like Drivers Licenses and other government documents to HR though.
