Spain has a pigeon problem, and some cities are recruiting private pigeon catchers to trap the rats-with-wings using special net catapult devices. The technique involves two people and a catapult-sprung net device. One person feeds the pigeons to make sure that they are gathered neatly into a small space, while the other angles the net catapult. Once the birds are in place, the net is released over the birds to trap them before they can fly away.

Holy shit, that was pretty insane.. lol

I thought they were going to catch maybe like 10 of them and the rest would get away or something. lol

What do they do with the birds after capture? They should sell them for food. Dove tastes good, and I bet pigeon does too.

Anthony Bourdain likes pigeon, so I would try it.

That preparation looks delicious. I'm gonna try to remember that, and make it myself. Pigeon was pretty big in Baltimore when my father was a kid. I don't know if it's still commonly sold, but the enterprising gourmet with an air pistol shouldn't have too much issue getting a free dinner :^)

Pretty ingenious really. When watching I was just waiting for a guy to come up with a net gun. This thing is MUCH more efficient.
